** The Process ** After your initial inquiry, Margaret will meet with you either by phone or in person, to discuss your requirements and answer any questions you may have about the portrait. At this time she will advise you on such details as choosing the subject's clothing, pose and setting (if any), and determine where the completed portrait will be displayed, to ensure that you will be getting a quality portrait that will complement the room it will be displayed in. The next step is either a photo session with the subject(s) or a review of photographs from your own collection, either of which can be used as reference material for the painting. Please note that there will be an additional fee for any travel required that is further than 40 kilometers to photograph a subject. Once the reference picture(s) are agreed upon, a 30% deposit will be taken in order to proceed with the commission. A drawing will be then be made using the reference picture(s) and submitted to the client for approval. The final portrait will be created based on this drawing. **Fees ** (Prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and do not include shipping, taxes, framing or travel expenses.) Portraits of adults and children 16" x 20" Head & shoulders Please add 50% of fee for each additional subject.
